A Survey on Activities for Health Care Administration of the Elderly in Urban Area

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was investigations of the patterns of daily life and activities for health maintenance of 142 aged persons of 2 Adult Classes in Taegu.
The results obtained were summarized as follows:
1. Subjects in the 60-64 age group demonstrated first as 49.6 per cent. Seventy-four per cent of all subjects were males.
2. Thirty-two per cent of subjects had graduated primary school and fifteen per cent were illiterate. Buddhism in religion and official in previous occupation were first as 40% and 34%, respectively.
3. Most aged persons prefered to eat vegetables rather than meat. The majority got used to get up early and go to bed early.
4. Thirty-five per cent of subjects liked music appreciation as recreation. Smoking and drinking revealed relatively low in a ratio.
5. Ninety per cent of subjects performed regular exercise and 67 per cent took restoratives for health promotion.
6. Ninety-three per cent of subjects complained of decreased memory. The majority were optimistic in character.
